Arthur M. Scheller III is the founder and managing member of the Scheller Law Group, LLC.
Mr. Scheller is a litigator with substantial trial and appellate experience and has represented clients for nearly twenty years in civil and business litigation of all kinds. These include breach of contract, tort, healthcare, real estate, condemnation, construction, product liability, employment, bankruptcy, class action, and other commercial litigation matters.
Art has advised a wide variety of clients including individuals, business executives, small and midsize businesses, Fortune 500 companies, hospitals, developers, government entities, and nonprofits.
Art has a proven track record for obtaining favorable results for his clients. He builds client loyalty and trusted relationships by developing and executing creative legal strategies that protect and advance his clients’ objectives as efficiently as possible.
As a trial lawyer, Mr. Scheller has tried cases in Illinois state and federal courts and Texas state courts. He has appeared and argued cases in numerous other state and federal courts, and represented clients in arbitrations and mediations, domestically and internationally.
Art has also represented clients in administrative proceedings before the Illinois Department of Financial and Professional Regulation, and the Illinois Health Facilities Planning Board. He has substantial appellate experience, participating in appeals in the Seventh Circuit, the Illinois Supreme Court, the Illinois Appellate Courts, and federal and state appellate courts nationwide.
Prior to founding the Scheller Law Group, Art practiced law for over eighteen years at one of the nation’s largest law firms (Drinker Biddle & Reath f/k/a Gardner, Carton & Douglas) where he was counsel in the Commercial Litigation Group and also practiced in the Products Liability & Mass Tort Practice Group.
Before entering private practice, Art held a prestigious judicial clerkship with the Honorable Justice Allen Hartman of the Illinois Appellate Court. Art earned his JD magna cum laude from The John Marshall Law School, where he was a member of the Executive Board of The John Marshall Law Review. He also holds a BA cum laude from the University of Notre Dame.
When not practicing law, Art spends his time with his wife and children, and plots his escape to the family farm in Wisconsin as often as possible. When he is not occupied with family activities, you can find Art reading or watching ESPN, where he gets the latest updates on (and sometimes thinks he is the GM of) his favorite sports teams: Fighting Irish football and basketball, the Chicago Blackhawks, the Chicago Cubs, and (given the family’s Wisconsin roots) the Green Bay Packers.
